5Cs Practice Library

Practice each capacity — in any relationship.

Five interactive activities, one for each of the 5Cs. Each takes 15–30 minutes and adapts to six different relationship contexts: self, child, educator, partner, community, and workplace. Your responses are saved automatically.

1 of 5

Curiosity

The discipline of treating a person or difficulty as a text worth reading closely — rather than a problem to solve quickly. Includes the educator variant: the student you've quietly stopped wondering about.

Connectedness

Belonging that does not require you to disappear. Distinguishes genuine connectedness from its performance — and asks where the gap is between who you are and who you must be to be accepted.

3 of 5

Co-Regulation

We are not self-contained. This practice works with the shared nervous system of a relationship — helping you and others stay present when the conversation gets hard to stay inside.

Compassion

Care practiced with discernment, not dissolution. Compassion in ASE is not charity across a divide — it is recognition of continuity, and the willingness to stay with the full truth without using it for your own feelings.

Contribution

What you do with everything you have become. The point at which personal flourishing and ethical solidarity become inseparable — working in community toward the change you can see is needed.

Not sure where to start?

Start with Curiosity.

Curiosity is the gateway capacity — the practice that makes the other four accessible. Most members find the Educator variant the most productive starting point, even if education isn't their primary context.

The Professional Training — Five Phases

Each phase corresponds to one full training day (approximately 8 hours). Phases are sequentially locked: you must complete each before advancing to the next.

01

Foundations & Conceptualization

ASE theory, the 3C+5C=3C framework, sapience, and developmental context for practice.

Read the theory first →
02

Curiosity & Connectedness

Deep practice of the first two Cs, micro-move language, environmental possibility mapping, and universal skills 1–3.

03

Co-regulation & Compassion

The hardest Cs under pressure: contextual pause, compassionate witnessing, drift patterns 1–3, allied techniques.

04

Contribution, Cultural Broaching & Universal Skills

Systemic advocacy, cultural broaching practice, universal skills 6–8, drift patterns 4–6, spontaneous ASE practice.

05

Practicum, Mastery & Integration

Simulated session analysis, PQRS self-rating, 40-item post-assessment, and reflective synthesis — completing the arc of practice and bringing it together.

Before you begin — go deeper

Read the complete ASE theory account before taking the pre-assessment. Ten sections. Forty-five minutes. A full treatment of mutual constitution, governors, sapience, the 5Cs, the three modes of practice, and the aspirational horizon. Your pre-assessment score will mean more — and your Phase 1 experience will be substantially richer — if you come in having already spent time with the theory.
