THE STRUCTURE OF AN ASE GOAL
Each goal holds two levels simultaneously:
  PERSON LEVEL: What capacity (5C) is developing, and what form will it take?
  ENVIRONMENT LEVEL: What needs to change or be provided in the student's ecology?

Formula:
"[Student] will develop [specific capacity from 5Cs] by [relational/contextual means],
supported by [environmental condition or advocacy action]."

GOAL REVIEW CHECKLIST

[ ] Does this goal name what is DEVELOPING (a capacity), not what must STOP?
[ ] Does this goal attend to the person AND the environment?
[ ] Was this goal developed collaboratively with the student?
[ ] Is the environmental advocacy component realistic and within reach?
[ ] Would this goal make sense to the student if they read it?
[ ] Does this goal reflect the 5Cs — is it clear which C is being cultivated?
